Globally, even nationally $3.1m is a piss in the ocean, fact, a significant amount to get caught with? If course, but not a great deal in the scene of things.
However, do the Australian police have figures on how much they smuggled in when they didn't get caught? Or even details of other operations these men got away with?

Nicey - Fair play you seem to have some knowldge on this. But again, I and probably most others will just look at the facts at hand. What you are rattling on about is basically just a sideshow.

That it was piss in the ocean
It is the australian authorities that have stated that the amount of heroin being brought into Australia through this syndicate was a large amount requiring a complex distribution network
Perhaps you are focusing too much on the amount they got caught with on this one occasion?

I guess you better take it up with the Australian authorities and let them know
Let them know what? What exactly are you talking about now?

PD that is the point
They were not all as bad as each other and banging their heads together and giving them a clip around the wouldnt have worked.
The duped, conned, naive and threatened ones will serve life imprisonment for their part.
The ringleaders, those involved with the compex syndicate on international drug smuggling actions multiple countries faced harsher sentences.
Again I'm not condoning the death penalty

67 chan was arrested on a plane on his own without anything on him apart from, stupidly SIM cards
In court he made it clear he had no part on any of this. That was his time to repent but he claimed it was all lies and he should be released

PD what else would they do in jail facing a death penalty?
Chan did send a threatening letter from inside jail to another mule in his operation who was arrested in Hong Kong.

Why did they get their hands dirty if they were such a sophisticated outfit. Seems strange they would even be in Indo if thats the case and I'm not saying it isnt

Nicey - Don't know and really not that interested. I just look at the facts at hand and how they have repented during their time inside. As for threats against their families, that even happens on here!

They also claimed - in seperate cases without collaboration - that Chan had shown them pictures of their families taken candidly and threatened to have them killed if they didn't carry out the mile task ...after taking the free holiday

It's worth noting that the mules who felt "threatened into a position" where they had to smuggle, said that they went to Bali as it was offered as a free holiday.
If you believe them, then you're pretty gullible.

PD the general theme is that these two were young and made a mistake wtc etc
I'm just trying to put some facts into the mix that they were dangerous criminals who made threats against the lives of the families of their mules who are all imprisoned now for life.
I agree the death penalty is wrong but so is the death penalty they put on their mules
All a terrible waste of life

cholo they were involved in huge amounts. The Australian authorities considered this a sophisticated syndicate that required an established distribution network in Australia
